Forms

Due to the new ordinance on the doctorate at ETH (which came into force on January 01, 2022) there are now different rules for doctoral students in accordance with the new ordinance or with the old ordinance. Only for the latter there is still a form that is relevant, the Course list for doctoral students.

A) Doctoral students of D-MATH who are doing their doctoral studies according to the OLD ordinance on the doctorate:

Documentation of attended courses via the Course list for doctoral students. The course list is a form where you should list the courses you have successfully completed during your doctoral studies with the credit units you have earned for each of them. For every course that you have attended the instructor has to sign your course list, confirming in this way that you have attended/passed the course. For courses with registration via myStudies, a myStudies extract can also be attached instead of the lecturer's signature. The complete course list has to be signed by your advisor before you may register for your doctoral examination.

It is advised to fill in the course list on an ongoing basis as the course instructors, in particular visiting faculty, might not be around at a later time.

Registration for doctoral examination

Please contact the secretary's office of D-Math at ETH main building, room HG G 33.4 (phone +41 44 632 3737 or email doktorat@math.ethz.ch). Condition for being able to register for the doctoral examination is to hand in your completed and signed course list. If you are not sure if the courses and credits on the list fulfil all necessary criteria (see Credit Units (ETH) you can contact Jessica Bolsinger (office HG G 67.1) for a check.

B) Doctoral students of D-Math who are doing their doctoral studies according to the NEW ordinance on the doctorate:

Documentation of attended courses via a myStudies transcipt.
